We are kicking off our SYEP and SYAP Employment program with Mandatory IDA training. This IDA training is for all SYEP/SYAP employees and their parents/guardians.
Training will be held this evening, Thursday, June 13th from 5:30 – 6:30 pm in the MBCH Convention Center.

Meskwaki Youth Program is having a Logo Design Contest for their upcoming Meskwaki Youth Leadership Conference!
This contest is for ages 13 and older. The Logo must also include “Adietisotaki winai nikaniyage”
Entries are due on July 1st and must be turned in to MYP which is located in the Economic Development Building.

The Meskwaki Youth Department is pleased to announce their official job application and job descriptions for our MYP-Summer Youth Employment Enrichment Program (SYEP) have been released. Meskwaki youth applicants are encouraged to fill out an application if interested in any of the summer internship opportunities available this summer and turn in their completed job application to Meskwaki Nation Human Resources before the deadline of May 24, 2019 by 4:30PM.
The Meskwaki Nation’s SYEP provides youth ages 14 to 24 with enriching and constructive summer work experiences through subsidized placements in the Meskwaki Tribal Government and private sectors.
Through MYP-SYEP, we strive to provide young people with the opportunity to:
• Earn money and gain meaningful work experience;
• Learn and develop the skills, attitudes, and commitment necessary to succeed in today’s world of work;
• Gain exposure to various exciting career industries;
• Interact with dynamic working professionals in a positive work environment;
• Lastly short-term employment and training program will introduce our youth to employers who will positively impact their futures.
Meskwaki Youth Program would like to thank our Host Departments-Apprenticeship, Finance, Health/Diabetes, Media, Meskwaki Settlement School, Meskwaki Travel Plaza without your help we would not be able to provided structured job opportunities for our youth. I would also like to recognize our Tribal Council, Executive Staff, Human Resources Staff, Finance Staff, JPO, Higher Ed, Mel from STC, and Attorney General’s Office for all the support. Meskwaki Youth Development Program will be hosting a Youth 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament on Friday, March 22nd.
The tournament is for boys and girls in 3rd to 12th grade and will take place at the Tribal Center Gym.
There is a $5.00 entry fee per team.

Meskwaki Youth Program movie night will be this Thursday, March 7th. They will be going to Fridley Plaza 9 Theatres and watching “Captain Marvel”. MYP will be leaving at 6:20 pm and plan arrive back at 9:20 pm. Meet at the Economic Development Office (1496 Hwy 30, Tama).
Admission and Snak Pak will be paid for.
There is limited seating in the MYP van.
**Must have a MYP Middle School registration on file.
