On Thursday August 20, Iowa Congressional Representative Abby Finkenauer met with tribal leadership and the Emergency Operations Center staff at the Tribal Center. The Congresswoman wanted to know how the response was going and also what the community impacts and unmet needs were. She was very interested in how the Tribe had responded to meet the community needs during the initial days following the devastating storms and praised them on the operations especially utilizing local resources.
Congresswoman asked questions of leadership to see how federal assistance procedures worked or could be improved for a quicker response to the needs of Iowans and the Tribe in the future.
