The Meskwaki Higher Education Program held their 4th Annual College Panel on Monday, Dec. 23rd where Meskwaki Warrior Alumni who are currently attending college had the chance to share their college experiences with MHS students. The Meskwaki Warrior Alumni included: Kade Brown who attends Fort Lewis College in Colorado. Morgan Bear who studied at Kirkwood Community College, The University of Northern Iowa, and is now currently studying at Iowa State University. Tylen Garcia who attends Marshalltown Community College. Tyus Grant whose attended Coe College, Kirkwood Community College and is now currently studying at the University of Northern Iowa. Marybelle Armajo whose studying at Coe College. Tracie Kapayou whose attending Capri College. And last, but not least, Danielle Seymour who is attending Kirkwood Community College. The college students spoke about what it’s like being a native college student, what their favorite college experience was, the obstacles they had to overcome while in college and what kept them going. The high school students also had the chance to ask any questions they had about college. The event was live-streamed by Meskwaki Media Services and posted onto the Sac & Fox Tribe’s Facebook page.
