From November 13-15 Meskwaki Nation Tribal Operations staff members were invited to participate in a workshop called Wellness in the Workplace. The workshop was presented by the Native Wellness Institute, took place at the Reinig Center in Toledo, and was led by instructor Lori New Breast.
Wellness in the workplace includes healthy communication, healthy conflict resolution, establishing healthy worksite norms and behaviors, defining concepts such as professionalism and respect, understanding where unhealthy behaviors come from, learning and building a sense of team and trust and learning how to move your team or department forward in a good way.
NWI can facilitate staff development training where the main topic is wellness in the workplace. We can also offer staff retreats where worksites are trying to build a better sense of team, work through difficult situations or to reward staff with a motivating and uplifting day.
